I soaked my boots in rubbing alcohol and oil of wintergreen.

This seems to have made them more pliable, and that's nice.

The question now is getting it all back together. There are two types of boots per the parts fiche - outer and inner. The things is, they aren't marked and the fiche is not detailed enough to show which is which.

How do I tell which boot goes where? And which way is up?

The outer ones are slightly 'cranked' IIRC.

    Figured it out.

Turns out they are not as symmetrical as initially appeared.

Now, what I need to figure out is what I did with the damn clamps...

Dang. Looked for the stupid things for an hour, they were hanging on a footpeg...

I have to say, between lubricating the engine side joints and softening the airbox side ones, this was probably the easiest carb install I ever had on this bike. First time airbox fits properly.

That was too easy. I am scared to start it now.

Ive used it, procured via ebay IIRC, smells like a Rugby Club changing room (think Deep Heat embrocation). I diluted with water and boiled the rubbers to the same effect. Although the effect is temporary and you can also over do it.
