My new to me 85 Maxim 700 has a blown out seat. I would really like to change it out without much or any frame mods to something that looks a bit more streamlined. What have you guys done? Let’s see some pics!

I went with a guy who makes most of these older vintage bike seat covers off of eBay for my 650 Maxim, he does good work. But also you'll have to keep in mind he does seat covers for alot of other things as well. Took about a month to get it but I really like the quality of it and look. Hope this helps!

Oh and I would post pics of mine but I'm currently working and away from my bike, didn't ride in because it's may and 50 degrees :-/

A sportster seat comes pretty close, I bought one for just $30.00 at a swap meet, but decided to go in a different direction. But the Sportster is pretty comfy.

They seem pretty nice, are they a tight fit? Do you stretch them on and staple them down?

Yes, we had to stretch it over and staple it down but it wasn't too bad at all. Went on very nice and looks good too! Sorry for the late reply, life has been life lol. You won't be disappointed if you get one and you'll gain some experience doing it.
