I was looking over some older threads from before I got here. Read the OP's firts post up there and about fel out of my seat laughing ROF!!
if his buddy said that... he is "NO" mechanic and should not be refered to as such.

my favorite saying since i was a boy... "Everyone thinks their a mechanic...until they need one!"

if the bikes are known for running hot at stops, I bet it would be a gamble weather or not it boiled out on your leg, or pressurized enough to blow a hose out and spray you with boiling hot liquid, making the street and your footing all slick from the glycol.. wow what a mess that would be to see!

That must be the reason he wants the radiator removed ;).

Many people will bypass the the temperature switch and wire in a toggle switch so the fan can be manually controlled

So is the standard setup a thermal switch in the radiator to operate the fan?

@hogfiddles thats what I had to do to my cbr900rr, got motor built and that thing ran HOT! so I upgraded the rediator to a dual core 40mm polished aluminum and installed two 6" HV fans on a manual switch on upper fairing. much better...
