FZR 1000 EXUP

Finally got the carbs put together:

I found I was missing the o-ring for one of the pilot screws, so I ordered a new one (can't just get the o-ring). Getting close to a start on this one!

Couple small updates. Did some riding a week ago, here's a short video:



I picked up some brake upgrade options:

These are both bolt-on upgrades. The gold-spots have a coated alloy piston vs the steel one in blue-spots. Both have better stopping w/ less weight. I have an updated MC w/ external reservoir as well.

 

Nice project...couple questions for you.

With that high of a compression ratio...what octane rating are you using? Mixing race gas with pump?

Your imaging camera is very cool...is it the add-on for your phone or a separate camera? Seen an add-on screen for your phone made FLIR and wondered how good they are.

 

I just run 89 octane in the bike. AFAIK, haven't had any misfires. I should look up what it requires though!

Latest mods... getting things set up to mount a new master cylinder with external reservoir.

 

Bringing the brake upgrade to a conclusion:

 

I finally tallied up the parts I bought to re-do the carbs. This doesn't include shipping or tax.

 

Never, never, never add up the expenses. That ruins the fun.

 

I'm not suggesting this isn't an outlier, but maybe the FZR1000s are hitting their stride?
