How bad is the dent? You haven't thrown it away already, have you?

Saw this on the Facebook. Exterior paint is garb. Interior looks clean. But the price is in the stratosphere:

not really to high priced as many want them for the 650 being a direct bolt on replacment

That's not too bad. Whatever you do, don't junk it. I would buy it and fix it if nothing else.

I would rather fix it or get it fixed some how to keep it all original. I'm not planning on scrapping it right now. It only has a very small ding on the other side and small dent to the left of the gas cap.

My original tank was way worse, body-guy fixed it up perfect and painted it. No way I’d scrap that tank, probably cheaper to have it fixed vs sourcing another tank that will most likely still need work.

Thanks. Think I'll look for a body shop and see how much that will set me back.

Check for a paintless dent repair outfit as well. Those guys can do some amazing things. I have a truck that was hail damaged and you would never know it now. A motorcycle gas tank should be an easy fix for them.
