Having a brain fart. The small clip in the attached photo that is to the left of the fuel line holder.
There is nothing that seems to be near it that would attach here and I don’t recall removing anything from it when removing carbs. Anyone know it’s purpose?

Helps to route the cables to the carb.....I think...one for the throttle and the other for the choke....

No, both the throttle and choke are on the front (cylinder side) this is on the airbox side. Only thing routing there is the clutch cable and it’s in its support clip. I was thinking maybe vent hose but there isn’t one close by that would route there.
The odd angled one on the right.

It holds your vaccume hose from the #3 carb to the petcock.

From left to right as you sit on the bike, the 1st is the fuel line the 2nd is the vacuum from carb # 3 to petcock and 3rd is for the clutch.

This makes the most sense based on the size of the clip and the vac line but my vacuum hose is on #1.
I’ll recheck it …but meanwhile after 15 years in someone’s garage…..she’s running and pretty smooth for that length of time!

Yup that’s it. Perhaps PO moved it from #3 to #1 not sure if it makes any difference. Still an odd spot for the clip when the petcock connection and carb connection are on the same plane at the front of the carbs.
Anyway mystery solved thanks for the input.
Now to set air/fuel mix and check shims, flush brakes etc etc
But she runs and runs well!

Im not sure but i think they did it that way because #3 is the base carb.

Even so, I gather it shouldn’t make any difference correct? Vacuum on #3 is same as vacuum on #1 I assume.
Thanks for your input and clarification btw.

No difference. Most I see have the vacuum line on #2.
