Just got my first bike 81 maxim 650. The guy said he rebuilt carbs and just needed a boot from the air box to carb one so I replaced that. Turns over but wont start. I checked the float bowls and I'm only getting gas to carbs 2 and 3.

Maybe gently tap on 1 and 4 to see if the float valves will open up.

Welcome as first bike owner, a couple of items it is possible the floats are stuck closed on carbs 1 and four . If that is the case the carbs will need to be removed and the float bowls removed to check . It is possible the gasket could be keeping float from dropping, the other item chrck float pins a light sanding with 600 grit paper .

Tore the carbs down and found the float needles were stuck. Thank you for the advice.
