Would an 3/8" butterfly impact driver loosen them? I' thinking that and heat.
Are the frames of the xj650 and Seca 650 different? Thinking I would like to put Seca body work on my xj. My gut tells me they are. Ed
This must be a result of the bonding agent drying out. I have some nos shoes I was going to use, but may have to go new.
Would this be true for any old bike? Or are XJ's more susceptible to this?
Don't you just love machine tools! However, with a hacksaw and file you can accomplish the same thing.
How much for both? I am close by. Ed
Remember, brake flud should be changed every 2 years whether the bike is used or not.
Has anyone had luck using an ultrasonic cleaner, and what liquid to use. I'll be taking mine off soon and am dreading what I may find. When I put...
You'll love the bike. As said above regarding pods and bobbers, maintain it and you'll have fun for years. Remember stock bikes or close to it,...
Have you tried Craigslist or kijiji? Most are willing to ship. Ed
I'm the third owner of my bike, but I've owed it the longest, 28 years. Ed
Probably the best method if you have a welder.
Another good reason to go for the spin on filter conversion.
That bolt is toast. Perhaps grinding some flats on it and lightly tapping on it while turning with vicegrips. Worked for me, careful not to damage...
Sad to see nice bikes hacked up for bobbers. Most never get finished. Just like the chopper craze years ago.
If I changed my oil filter that often I would probably go for the conversion. You can always change it back to stock.
Makes sense to me. Only thing that kind of bothers me (my paranoia) is that some tweeker will unscrew it a parking lot. Thanks for the reply and...
Any data on this? Just want to know if the initial expense is worth it.
Other than being faster to change the oil filter what is the advantage of this conversion? Ed
But comfy. Keeps you in your seat for when that 115 HP kicks in.
Have several. bmwed@rogers.com

I have a factory one for a 82 xj650j. Let me know if that will work. Ed

Sat on the 900, it seemed to generate a lot of interest. Missed the 650. Ed
I could use the rear brake and gear shift assemblies for another project I am working on. Thanks Ed
Welcome aboard. Great bike, lots of good people and info on this site. Ed
Do a ebay search for XJ650 bolts. Some one is selling stainless steel kits, and lists all the bolt sizes and specs. Has a picture too. Ed
It didn't work for me on my work computer also. On my home computer it worked fine. Ed
I am about to order mine soon. Out of curiosity, does the cross reference cover all Yamaha bikes, or only those relavent to the XJ series? For...
Yamaha Induction Control System Connects all the carbs via holes in the head. In a way balances them.
