nice look! What kind of exhaust is that?
    1. LarryMc
Everything is stock exhaust up to the mufflers. The head pipes have been rechromed and I found a NOS collector on Kiijii so it looks good for what it is.
The mufflers are the generic 17" reverse cone shortys off of Ebay. They are on sale sometimes and you can score a pair for about 100 bucks if your lucky. They come with very little packing material so they are too loud for my taste. I found that repacking them with stainless steel wool mellows them out.

Thanks. I'm keeping my eyes out for a long-term exhaust given the state of my current one.

If you search "XJR400 exhaust system" you'll be surprised at the number of choices there are. Being it's a European only model shipping will apply cause that's where they are manufactured.
I have a set of 4-1 stainless head pipes for the XJR, they bolt right up. The underneath mounting point is off a little but that's an easy fix.

Have you been able to get away with no blinkers in Washington?
    1. LarryMc
Look close, I have blinkers on the bike, front and rear. They are mounted to the headlight brackets, in front and in the factory location in the back. I used LED blinkers that are very bright and extra small.

Great looking bike. You did a nicely detailed install of the oil cooler. Where did you get the oil cooler and oil filter adapter?
    1. LarryMc
      Thank you.
The oil cooler is off a 2006 Suzuki GS500. I used it because it was off similar sized motor but mostly because the dimensions were correct for the bike. The oil cooler adapter is off a FZ600 with a Xj600 oil filter plate. This enables use of a cartridge filter.
The cooler came with AN fittings so I adapted AN compression fittings on to the adapter. I used Earl's stainless steel braided hoses to hook everything together.

Those are some nice upgrades there. You have put great deal of work into that bike and it shows.
    1. LarryMc
      Thank you.
I enjoy working on my bikes as much as I enjoy riding them.
I have a couple other upgrades that I'm gathering parts for this winters project.
