1983 650 spark ?

    what would cause only one plug to fire per coil? already put new ngk plugs and caps on.

    Are you looking at the pairs correctly when you check for spark? (be sure to only remove one plug at a time to reduce the risk of TCI damage)
    1 and 4 are a pair, and 2 and 3 are the other pair.

    If you are checking the pairs correctly then the most likely cause for your problem is plug wires that have pinholes or cracks in the insulation, allowing a jump to ground before reaching the plug.

    Swap the plugs around too. Even new plugs can be bad.
