81 XJ550 Maxim O-rings

    Just found 4 cylinder diameter sized orings in my top end parts kit. Looked at the manual and not seeing an explaination where they go. Already put the cylinder block on the engine so hoping they don't go under that where I will have to take the block off the pistons again. :(

    They do go under the cylinder block.

    You will have a heck of an oil leak without them in place.

    I’m thinking you have not removed the old ones from the sleeve or you would have noticed were they go.

    Thanks for the posts! Len @ xj4ever also got right back to me and let me know where they were located. Got the cylinder block back on with the new o rings in place. Took me under 30 minutes! I won't won't share how long it took the first time.
