Hi there, I'm a newbie here on the forum. I've been lurking for a while though.

I've been reading as many rattling brake posts but still haven't found the answer to my question. The manual states that the minimum rotor thickness for an '82 550 Seca is 4.5mm. I'm planning to replace it since mine measures 5mm with my calipers, but I'm curious what the thickness of a new rotor is.

My pads appear to be new, but I'll replace those to just to be proactive, and it looks like the anti-rattle spring is on good condition.

The original rotors, when new, are 5.00mm thick, so the ones you have already are showing (basically) no wear at all.

Thank you. That's pretty incredible since they appear to be stock. PO's must have done a lot of engine braking.
