Can not wait to check the valve clearance and see if it has rear brake delamination.

I'm pretty sure that one didn't use valves; all transistor unit.

I bought a similar Yamaha integrated amp for a few dollars at a thrift shop. Nice sounding Yamaha amp.

Vintage audio is my other hobby. Pics of the oldest of 3 vintage stereos I have set up in my house (this is the tube amp stereo).

Is that a cooling fan on top of the amp? Love it, must sound sweet.

Cool stuff. I love older stereo stuff, usually free or really cheap too. Some models are getting a premium now but there are still some good ones out there. I think I've spent less than $100 on all this stuff.

My main house stereo is a Denon DRA300 with a Sonos connect. Was my Grandpas, new when I was a kid. When he passed my Uncle took it to the cabin. Last time I saw it he had 16 speakers hooked to it. I warned him that you can't do that, next time I was up there I saw it in the garage in a pile of stereo stuff so I brought it home. No sound output. Luckily the speaker output was fused and just needed a couple new fuses. Still running daily here 10 years later (stays on 24x7). Ignore the wall damage, I decided to remove our unused chimney from the house so we're mid construction.

In my studio I have a couple HK pieces I've sorted over the years. I have the matching EQ too, got that a garage sale. It wasn't priced so I asked the lady. She was like "oh that's my husbands, I really don't know. Is $5 okay?" LOL. The T60 turntable was a rebuild project. The 680i is definitely my favorite stereo.

Lastly is my SX580 in the garage. Was free but I spent countless hours fixing the dang thing, was really close to tossing it. The FM mute circuit gave me hell fixing it, but defeating it would give me mono audio so that wasn't going to fly. All the switches were corroded but multiple applications of deoxit saved it eventually. Provided the soundtrack to XJ fixing though.

That is a cooling fan, but it has since been replaced with a quieter, small USB fan. The TRW Bell tube amp was given to me, along with its matching tuner (not in use) by my boss. Amp only required some new capacitors, and is working great. It is about the same age I am, really old...ca 1960. The turntable shown has since been upgraded to a Kenwood KD550, and the KD5070 shown is in the living room system.

My living room system is powered by a 1970's Sony Vfet amplifier. Vfets were a different kind of transistor that are no longer made, and well known for the quality of their sound.

Nice equipment posted in this thread. Lets see some more. 01.jpg

Not a stereo but it is tubed. Had this for about 22 years. Did the ground mod, three prong cord, replaced speaker wire with a 1/4" speaker jack, retubed, and rebiased. Bias is in fun this one, no adjustment. Have to take your measurements and determine proper resistor replacements.

    Vintage Silvertone!!!! Nice.
None of my stereo stuff is old enough to warrant posting a pic. But I do own the much coveted (in some circles and not yet vintage) GK800RB bass amplifier; run it bi-amped into a Hartke 2 x 10 and Mesa 1 x 15.
That amp has taken countless late night beatings and still rocks steady!

I love the metal cones that hartke uses. The kick back models are some of my favorite bass cabs. And Messiah Bogle too? Sweet set up, Stumpy!
I have a Tandy turntable, made by Hitachi I think, and distributed by Radio Shack. Currently no amp, though. Kinda frustrating, as I keep buying records, and can only enjoy the artwork.
Why is it that us xjers have so many common hobbies?
I also have a Kawasaki keyboard. Matches my son's hotwheels ninja quite nicely.

Pic isn't mine, but this is my hobby radio (a C rather than a B though).
