Af226 - your carbs; Before-After :)

    hey af226, better take your heart pill--

    1980 xj650 carbs:

    Before: ( complete with stripped jets hardened and shrunken seals, a broken Float tower, a seized and stripped mixture screw threading, a badly rusted and seized float/pin/valve assembly and another bent float , mangled jets from some previous owner, seized bowl drain screws, paint, some non-original hardware, etc.... whew! I had my work cut out for me on this one. BTW, this is the rack that has the 1980 body that I showed in the "eeeewww.... " forum....

    It took a lot, but I really enjoy seeing a really rough set turn out so nice again:)

    only 4 mounting screws each on the 2 brackets. is this typical of the 1980 carbs?

    Good old fashioned carb cleaner, carbon tetrachloride....is that even legal anymore?...or just gallons of petrol and a toothbrush!! ;)
