Close but no. Close examination of the pics show instruments with full round faces like the Seca but the "hump" between the gauges isn't tall enough.

I suspect Seca 550-style gauges but without the fuel and voltmeters, looks like a bank of indicators similar to the 650 Seca. Actually, it looks very similar to the cluster I got from Australia/New Zealand off an XJ550; round faces without the other two "accessories," just an array of indicator lamps.

It looks like it has the bigger Maxim-style rear brake too.

Fascinating. I know I said that before but I'm still intrigued. Nice bike. By all means keep us posted.

Be sure you check your rear brake shoes for delamination as soon as you can.

A 550 police bike would out run any scooter in Vietnam. Welcome the form. That’s one hot looking bike.

    Xin chao anh majmpd!

During a year living in Ho Chi Minh city I only saw 3 bikes bigger than 250cc so you will definitely be standing out from the crowd. Nice bike.

    Chuc may man.

Hey tons of storage for beer, I mean groceries, etc. Just curious if the crash
bars were a factory or dealer option?

Wow! Very nice. Where did you get the luggage and the storage box over the rear fender? Did you fabricate them?

Maj congrats on your find how did you come to own the bike? One thing I noticed it appears the right front brake rotor is for the left side. The slots are facing the wrong direction. I am no expert,(I don not even own a 550) so you might want to pose the question to them to see if it even makes a difference. The white forks do stand out looks good

Slots aren't "normal" for 550s here; those look like 750 style rotors.

Yamaha liked to match the direction of the slots to the "swirl" in the wheels; and there is NO functional difference in having the slots face "forward" or "backward." Just like it doesn't matter which way "swirly" drilled holes in rotors go.

I just love the white forks and big comfy factory solo seat.

That is one sweet bike looks like it just rolled out of the show room. I would love to have that seat to build a bobber around.
