Hi guys, bike was running rough so I decided to clean the carbs as seen (first time working on carbs) and I applied compressed air to all areas and a small washer like (about the size of a dime or smaller) skimmer//filter came out and don’t know where it belongs. To make things worst now I can’t find it. Does anyone know what I am talking about?
If so do I really need it?

    where can I buy one?
    Where does it go?
    thanks,

is it plastic and a screened dome? that would be the strainer from the top of the float valve assembly

if you put an inline filter on the fuel line you do not need them

Sounds like it the seat filter , as to parts at the top right corner of the page click on xj4ever chacal has most parts for these bikes. Read " church of clean" and information overload . Please note sparay cleaner will not fully get into the small passages of the carb.

    Thanks for replying.
It wasn’t like dome, it was more like plastic meshed washer.

if you didn't blow it out of all the carbs you should be able to locate it in one of the carbs. like XJ550, the only "mesh" i have seen inside a carb was the mesh cap on the float valve. Remove one of the float needle valves and see if it has a screen.
