Anyone did this conversion to their shafty? Don"t have lathe,or I could buy one size under heavy wall tube, and turn to 0.685 i.d. Any help will be appreciated, thanks.

Used swingarms come up on E-bay fairly often. Snag one and use it to make the extention.

    See above.

Driveshaft extending is a job for an experienced welder (though a lot of inexperienced people do the job, with very mixed results).
To be honest, if you're an experienced welder you already know how to extend a shaft and keep it strong, straight, and balanced.

Take your driveshaft and swingarm to a machine shop. Tell them how much longer you need it to be. It's worth the money to know that it won't be coming apart on you at speed. Hospital stays cost a lot more than a machine shop will charge for the extension work.

I haven't had one apart, but I have worked on similar 90º gearboxes. In an earlier version of my life I was a machine maintainance technician.

The XJ final drive is pretty easy to take off so the driveshaft and swingarm can be removed.
You will not need to work on the final drive to extend the swingarm and driveshaft.
