The Seca 750 ran a faster 1/4 mile time for two reasons.
    1. The fairing.
    2. Pee Wee Gleason.
And #2 had a bigger role to play IMO.

The Maxim 750 is supposed to have a different output gear ratio, but I'm not sure that isn't a misprint.

Yes, but not enough to account for the 1/4 mile time. Not by as much as is listed anyway.

possibly something in the transmission I looked at the gears same. possibly something in the other tranny parts. 480 pounds vs maxims 520 pounds could help too

I remember when pee wee Gleason ran 11.99 on the seca 750 I think it was the first stock production. 750 to break In the 11 second quarter mile time. I never ran across a Yamaha seca in my younger days to race. I can tell you i beat a Honda 650 night hawk bad. I beat a Kawasaki csr650 bad and i beat a Honda 750 from a dead stop with 2 of us on my maxim 750 in 1985

Yes, it was the first to break that record. Yamaha held it for about a month, then Kawasaki released the GPZ750. 11.93 @ 109 MPH.

my fuel gauge decided it wanted to act stupid. it has been working perfectly but yesterday i noticed it said that i was out of fuel. i filled the bike up and no it stays mostly between 1 and 2 bars. sometimes it will show a full tank. i am guessing the sender is going bad, are there aftermarket senders? or can the OEM sender be fixed or swapped out with one from a different model bike? i also received a refund from the guy who sold me the fake dynatek coils. now i can order the real dynatek coils.

Most of the time the sender has a bit of rust on it, ot the pivot is sticky.

You will need to pull it to inspect, and you will need a new gasket.

First thing to check is that the plug is firmly seated in the receptacle, and the insulation is not worn through, and that the crimps on the harness pins are in good shape. Do that at the plug under the seat for the sending unit, and the wiring to the display.
