Sometimes after the thing is posted you want to go back, but find it difficult to figure out how to do this.

You use to be able to edit your posts, but now you can't due to a past member that decided to delete alot of his posts which then messed up the threads.

Yes, I miss this feature. I would like to se the feature reenabled maybe on a certain criteria Eg over 100 posts to prove your responsible enough.

Totally understand the reason behind it and support Sno's decision but don't necessarily agree with it. (Yea, I know, totally contradictory.)

Other option would be to disallow edits after an hour. I know this is possible with some forum software, not sure if this one allows it.

    Cheers

I thought it used to be enabled, I assumed it was my new browser or security settings, or blind old me couldn't find it.

One board I am on allows to edit the title as well which is great when you have a quick question and can right ANSWERED in front of it, ot SOLD in the for sale section.

I would like to see it enabled as well, sometimes I come back to my threads when I am sober and see typos, or it reads funny, and could be confusing. ;)

I'd love to see everyone being able to use the "eraser" to correct typos and the like. I was most unhappy with not being able to police myself but I understand where Sno is coming from. This is yet another case of an apple spoiling it for the rest. Sorry gang. Sno did offer to edit threads should the need arise but (and I agree with him) not for just a silly mispelling. Should anyone need/want an edit, simply forward a PM with the request to any of the forum moderators and it will be put under consideration (I have been known to take the occasional batch of chocolate chip cookies for favors, I think better when well fed). I've not seen much that needed any attention so I'm pretty sure we'll all get along just fine without it.

Sorry folks, but I'm in the "this is a silly thing" group. This is the only online forum/board I'm involved in that doesn't let registered users use the "edit" function. It's a basic thing, and solves more problems than one or two idiots create.

I guess one could do something that I fail to do all the time.

Simply hit the preview button 1st to proof it before hitting the submit button.

Just look as some of my submittions and you'll see my letters and words left out!?!

I have posted, found a mistake or two, then I do a quick copy of the posting, then hit the delete button to erase the post.

I then use paste in a new posting, edit the offending error(s), and then hit submit.

As long as no one has posted after the first post this works!

You can also hit the delete button to erase a "double" posting.

Download the latest Firefox then. Has a built in spell checker.

Or Google IEspell for an add on to your existing internet explorer.

    spell checker
Yes, that would be nice and I'll have to check out the latest Firefox mentioned by HiredGoon.

    Edit functionality
I'm thinking on changing the forum functionality to allow editing upto 10 days after the post was made. Starting on the 11th day the Edit button would not be available for that post. What do you guys think?

I will admit to understanding the administrator's reasoning, but agree with the above.
