Bought an old rusty pair of 3 way engine guards for my seca 750 on ebay for 14.00 and free shipping . I have been calling around about re chroming and am shocked at the price . Walked out the the shop to change my brake pads on one of the seca's yesterday and decided to drop those rusty guards into a bucket of evaporust . This morning i am amazed that re chroming will not be required . The stuff really works well .

Hmmm does it work in Gas Tanks??
I've been using Hydro Chloric Acid, which sucks because its picky. Gotta wash, rinse, gasoline, oil line, rinse, gas, rinse, fill with gas all within like 20 min!

It will work in gas tanks. Your pickling method seems a bit labor intensive, but I'd be just cautious about removing too much of the steel as you are.

Old timer has a bucket of the stuff at the shop. I personally dont like it. PITA........
Wonder if my Advance Auto has some..
But my tank is all good now. Cleaned it up pretty good.
Whatever flakes are left will be caught by the inlines.

From what i hear you dont want it to touch fuel sending unit or any other electrical parts . Not sure if it works on tanks the 3 tanks i have are as fresh as the day they were born . Not a spec of rust in any of them . I feel very lucky i hear the horror stories on here about Cleaning and treating them

Superbowl toilet cleaner shreds off the heaviest rust imaginable. Incredible stuff. Not a good thing for alloy though.

Nice! I too use evaporust and find a clear coat after cleaning keeps things looking right a lot longer & makes re-rusting less likely.
