Started my seat last night ( you can see in a previous post )
    Here is the final product.

Cover the Fiberglass in short haired fiberglass reinforced bondo

Grinded and sanded to start to get the smoother finish

Cover in a special mixture I use. Bondo with resin mixed. This gives a product that allows you to apply with a brush and self levels for a harder smoother finish. I sand smooth after that cured

Wrapped it in a tan seat cloth

man, ever since i saw your post yesterday, i've been jonesin' to try my hand at this. not saying i'd actually use the final product but just knowing i could try and build my own custom seat is a challenge i look forward to.
also, this process could work for those of us missing that right side battery cover.
ps. what do you use to glue the pink board together?

I use a high quality hot glue (OEM Style, it is amber color)
I was actually showing my buddy the seat tonight, and we were looking at making new side cover on both side. Maybe next week :)

What about padding? A little cushion goes a long way.

I still have to weld in a brace across where the rear of the frame was cut. I will then flush a piece of flat iron into the bottom of the seat and secure it in place with fiberglass. Then it will get secured there. As for the padding. Right now because of its shape, it seems really comfy. I plan on putting some padding in though. I just wanted to wrap it first to make sure that it looked right. Doesnt take me long to wrap something, so Ill just pull that off and rewrap with padding. FYI, the pics make the seat look really squared off in the back. In person, if fits the shape of the frame perfect, and actually looks pretty damn cool.. I need to get some pics with outside light, might get better pics that way.
