The Bike Shed did a piece on this well restored and updated XJR1300, a project collaboration between Yamaha and "Japanese selvedge denim company Iron Heart." Aside from the beautiful eye candy we get from it, the interesting news is that they're going to add a line of aftermarket parts based on this build for anyone else to update their bike in the same way.

Now if we could just get Yamaha to bring the bikes to the U.S.

Exactly. And then as soon as someone wrecks one, I can snatch it up and use it to update the 650. :)

Is that the three cylinder one?

    (Edit: added the word "three")

I am sure the forum has already had this debate but dont think you would like the latest incarnation though it does look like the one BIke Shed have produced.

The jury is out on the styling!!!

The SXR 700 obviously a take on the MT 07(europe) I think its FZ in N America, but looks great and seems to have lost the "transformer" look. Hope Uk gets it though no rumours of it , instead we are to get a faired (tracer ) version

So yes we in UK can buy one of these XJR1300 "racers" though it wont be me!!

On the XJR, what would the exhaust headers be made of? (Edit: just read it more carefully and see that they are titanium.) Is the colorful "expression" due to heat? Ive had headers turn dark blue and the one I just wire brushed down turned gold after a couple rides, but nothing like those small rainbow patches. I *think* mine are stainless steel, not stock.

Looks like a filter was used to enhance the colours of the photo as well tho

Yes, it has cylinders. Three of them (actually quite a lot more if you count bearings, the steering neck, etc.).

Doh. I meant to type "the three." Thank you for reading between the lines.

This has me wondering... based on the geometric definition alone, how many cylinders are there in a motorcycle? (excluding cylindrical prisms)

Does it count if the cylinder is threaded?

Hmmm..... Good question. Technically only the threads would be a helix, so I suppose that the bore would still count as a cylinder.
