Went out on high beam last night . I switch to lo beam and 3 blocks from home it burned out.

Im going to change it out when I get the time. Thing is when the lo beam was on even though it was not working It still had a faint glow to it.

Im just curious if this has happend to anyone else. T.I.A.

Sounds like you might have burned a wire somewhere, most likely the headlight ground. When you take the headlight off, smell for burning plastic and check all the connectors. If you have the computer monitor in your gauge cluster, then the headlight leads run through that too, and it is possible to burn it out.. You will have to get out your multimeter and start testing for where the power stops.

ok finaaly got a little bike time in...seems I did just burn it out..only I think it is because the light does not set tight in the bucket, and it rattled it till it broke the filament

Im having problems adjusting it to..seems like the brights are up in the tree..

Anyways though im mobile for now...thanx taz

If that's your bike and your garage in your avatar then you can use the garage door for setting your headlight. Park your bike about ten feet away from the garage door with the bike up on the center stand. You'll want to measure up from the ground right in front of your bike to the center of the headlight. Take that measurement, subtract about six inches from it, and tape a "+" on the garage door directly ahead of the bike. Then adjust the headlight's high beam to this mark. When you flip it to low, it should drop below the "+" mark. Take it for a ride. If you find it too low or too high, adjust as needed, but it should get you pretty close.
