Higher rpm

    Yes good point. I think when l checked my alternator it was about 14.4 volts.

    I think it refers to the regulator box heading, perhaps l have misunderstood this :eek:.

    Indeed, I took it to mean the regulator voltage feeding the rotor fluctuates thusly to maintain the correct output voltage at a given RPM and load:

    “This "electromagnet" rotor is fed a current which is adjusted to keep the output of the alternator between 14.2 and 14.8 volts (with no load).”

    Yes must be that the regulator voltage feeding the rotor.

    Update!!:

    After many headaches, i finally found that the pilot jets that came with my carb rebuild kit were non-bleed type. I replaced, instant changed the way the bike ran and was able to get the idle rpm down to the appropriate reading. Thanks guys for your help.
