It would need to be a ujm.I saw a kit for the cb1100 that looks like a cb750.its 5 grand though. I like the copper chopper denny berg built. for me, probably start with a gs or xj.The standard toprail frames dont lend themselves to customizing. An amen savior frame, girder forks, blacksmith forged twisted steel handlebars, digital dash, rune style tailight, front signals built into the triple trees, rearones part of the tailights.frenched license plates. No more than 26 inch seat heighth. Possible airbag suspension,4 into 1 intake manifold with single weber, testarosa styled sidecovers, cnc machined wheels, forward controls, flushmount gascap, stock gas tank, emblem area smoothed and filled, topped off with custom paint.maybe porsche guardsmen red, or semiflat black with red pinstriping, maybe metalflake. no potato chip or tractor style solo seat. One more that is actually rideable longdistance. m mode electrics. never a hardtail. some sort of stylish headlight. brembo brakes. What would you build.

I've never liked cruiser or chopper style bikes. Race bikes are up my alley. XS 650 street tracker or YZR 500 replica. Painted yellow and black of course.

1973 Yamaha DT3. I learned on that bike and always liked the styling. Prices for them and parts have really gone up lately and it would be a garage queen not a rider once done.

In Canada we had RD 350 liquid cooled bikes up until about 1985? One colour scheme was the yellow and black bumble bee.

Restore my uncle's interceptor, and build a radical, kick start only, bare bones chopper. Thinking of an xs750 triple just to be different. Would also consider a small cc chain drive since it likely wouldn't leave town. I'd also add trying to acquire my grandfather's trail 90 as it was one of the only "motorcycles" he's ever owned.

For a small cc chain drive, you should look into pre 2017 Honda Rebels. As basic as a bike can get. Small, flickable, reliable. A good starting point for your around town custom. At first, I was a little bit ashamed of mine, now I love commuting on it. Guy at my work has a fully stripped and customized 81 goldwing, but he always wants to ride my Rebel. Huge grin on his face every time I say yes.

I have a spare 550 (seca) frame and I'm aching to put an FZ400R (16 valve LC) motor in it. It's the same form factor (I think) as the 550 and I hope it would end up looking a bit like an early 80s RD350 LC .. I missed out on a complete FZ400R not long ago which went on ebay for peanuts. Convinced myself I didn't have the time for it.. :-(
