Ducati singles are loads of fun, I've owned a few pasta bikes, had a 97 monster 750 dark, a mid 70's 750 sport, and a tiny little 250cc "Bastard trail bike" scrambler somebody had witchcrafted together...
I got em cheap too, Less that 1200 for the 250 and the monster. The 750 sport I paid around 3K for, however it needed a bit of TLC before i drove it....Like a total tear down...*shudders*

    Old Bike?

    BSA
    Norton
    Triumph
just about any 2 stroke enduros (My heart longs for an old ts400 apache, it was so fun leaving oil slicks and blown ear drums everywhere behind me)

    Brand new bike?

    Ducati Scrambler, hands down
Bimota Tesi 3d(2008) or the Delirio
    Husqvarna Nuda 900R
    KTM Super duke
    Ural Gear Up Sahara LE
    BMW S1000RR

    In that order

Because if money is no limiting factor...I'll take em all.

I did just this a few years ago, not new but new for me 07 Wee Strom.
It's a good bike but it seems I like the 4 cylinder power delivery in comparison to the V twin.
So I'm looking again.........I suspect I'm going to say that a lot before I give it away.
In the meantime the Strom takes me away every now and then loaded to the gills, wife and I for day trips yada yada can't fault it really.

Look at the FJ-09. You might like a triple better.

The Honda ST1300 would ne a real temptation, or the naked, black version of the Honda Goldwing (1800 cc).

I'd grab the Yamaha Raider, first. Second would be the Yamaha Stryker

I'm falling for the Yamaha XSR900 (European model). Like the Bolt grew up and decided not to try to be a Sportster anymore.

So many bikes, need more personal riding style to help with this one.

All around riding would be a dual sport probable a DL650, lite enough to throw around when the pavement ends. Once you have a dual sport and start to test the trails it is hard to go back to a only street bike. For the hooligan in me, ZRX1200R, great bike! A close second would be a B1200 they both have more of a sit up riding style with the inline four power. For a all day rider with plenty of wind protection and enough power to get around the slow traffic, Honda Black Bird. or ZZR.

These bikes should not break the bank :)

I wish I could go back and edit my last post. It was supposed to say XSR700, not 900. I guess the correction limit has passed. Gee, ain't it funny how time slips away.

No doubt about it for me - the new T120 Bonne, in black, black, black.

Unfortunately, a kick starter is not an available accessory, nor are the young hard bodies shown in the marketing pictures. But, that thumping twin cylinder mama sure does sound good with the 270 degree cadence.....

    Ah. Back in the day.

I'm seriously considering a Indian Scout Bobber. Or at least a Indian Scout. $9k-$12k is reasonably price for such a iconic bike and brand.
