Last minute research on interchangeable stuff from 1981-82

I'm sure this info is most likely available somewhere in the vast depths of this forum. However, I don't have much time to dig around so I'm gonna try my luck. I currently have an 82 XJ650 Maxim YICS. I have an opportunity to pick up an 81 XJ650 Maxim for a good deal, this weekend only! It's a decent trip out to the seller. So which one of you gurus can enlighten me (and maybe others) similarities/differences/compatibility between 81-82 as far as engine swaps/ignition (TCI & pickups)/carbs/brakes/wheels etc? Anything helps! Trying to determine if it's worth the time, effort & bread before I head out there. Note that my bike is a ratty bobber so I'm not worried about little stuff like gauges/lights/relays/switches etc.

 

81 is a non-YICS
82 is YICS

So intake boots and head are different
