Hey all, wondering if anyone up in Canada knows of any laws and/or regulations regarding motorcycle modifications like hard tailing or bobber or chopper conversions. The bug has bitten and I want to make sure I cover my bases legally first.

    thanks in advance,
    Kevin

Nothing here in Ontario. As long as you have all the needed equipment on it functioning your good to go!

The way I've always planned to go about it is get it safetied stock, and then chop away. Safeties are only needed for change of ownership in Ontario.

The only thing I've heard of that will get the attention of the boys in blue is if you put the licence plate vertical instead of horizontal, but it depends on who pulls you over.

well if there is nothing on the books in Ontario, I should be able to figuratively get away with murder here in Alberta. Time to start planning.

In Quebec they are a bit tougher on the types of mods you can do...
And the links on the provincial website are in french (i couldn't find the english version).

    Example:

you have to have a fender on the front wheel that covers a certain % of the wheel.

Your signal lights have to be of a certain distance (a minimum)

And as far as i can tell... No Hard Tailing....

If anybody else has more info please post away...

I can find the link again if anyone is interested...
