    HI All

I need some longer studs as I'm struggling to get my alfa 4:1 on securely. Any problem just using M6 studding cut to length. Stainless or BZP ?

    Cheers

No problem I do it all the time.
The only problem you will have is getting the old studs out without breaking them. Two nuts tightened back to back will hold the stud while gently loosening . Some heating of the cylinder head with a propane torch will help. Heat the area around the old stud and gently tighten and loosen the stud until it comes out. Penetrating oil always helps. Don't heat the stud much or it will break and that's what you don't want.
Put never-seize on the new studs(bolts) when installing

Did you remove the old exhaust gaskets before putting the new ones in?

I only fitted them all up recently so I hope they'll come out OK. Probably go for stainless then and coppered grease..

    Cheers
