Good time to get a new set of grommets too! I never realized how loose my side panels were until I got some new grommets from Chacal.

Black would work fine. What price would you be asking? OR I have some Xj650 parts from the PO. Came with an extra tank. Even have an 81 parts bike. Let me know if you want pics of my parts...the bike parts man. :D

If Dave can't help, we should have some good used ones available too, in a variety of stock (original) colors.

Left side is the one I'm missing (A big F U to the bugger that stole it) but, if you have both, Id be interested to have a spare right.

Holes are for side cover emblems. Some years were stick-on, others were mounted on, and the midnight maxim ones were also mounted on. Mounted ones have little posts that go through the cover, then a small washer/gasket, then a retainer. Most were two-post, Midnight Maxim was 3-post. I believe yours was from a MM.

And that is why you are the XJ Wizard!
Thanks for letting me know, I did notice the “new “ left side cover does not have the bike information (label) on it . Again I appreciate the background on the covers.
