Just wanted to say hi to everyone. I live in NE Ohio. Have had new bikes since 2003. Just got myself a great running 1983 xj650. Picked it up pretty cheap too. Super excited to really start making it mine. Just a few before and after (1 day) pictures so far . 20180421_133932.jpg 20180421_135906.jpg 20180421_160200.jpg 20180421_184929.jpg 20180421_215348.jpg 20180421_215426.jpg

Looking good. What type of paint did you use on the carb diaphragm covers?

A ton of elbow grease and it was just Krylon paint and primer flat black rattle can. Thanks. As crazy as it sounds, I can't wait till this fall when I'm not riding to really tear into it. More than likely gonna be a lot of DIY. Don't really mind experimenting on a $600 bike. I have read a ton about the whole pod filter issue.... might dabble into that a little. Seems to make it run lean. Might try to restrict the pods instead of the guessing game of rejetting. And can always go back to stock box.
