    Hi Everyone

Just got myself a bunky 1981 XJ750 (well, as far as I can make out from the serial number!).
It hasn't started for ages, previous owner crashed it so it has bent forks and as you can probably tell, generally in a pretty sad state.
Just going to see if I can get it running, and see what happens from there. Basic bobber/cafe racer/rat bike sort of thing is the end game, but I'm not getting carried away just yet...
Got the carbs off, currently disassembling to clean them out. 1st one has crud through it, but haven't started cleaning yet.
At the rate I get things done, along with the small chances I actually get to 'play' I give myself about a decade to get it on the road!
    The clock starts now...
It looks like there is a whole lot of info on this site, so no doubt I'll be trawling through lots of threads! I think the search function is going to become my new best friend.

    So anyway, G'day from me!

Welcome from the Green Mountains of Vermont!

Yes, everything you could possibly need to know is here. Old chat strings will become your friend when you can't be in the garage "wrenching".

Just discovered mine is one of 200 in Australia and now I'm torn whether or not to cut 'n' shut it...
Don't think it is anything particularly special, so I don't think any 'history' will be lost if I mod it.
    Thoughts?
