Hi there everybody! I have been reading thru the forums today (found you thru google while looking for a battery) and wanted to let you know that this place is awesome! I recently got my first bike, an 82 maxim 750 that has a lot of sentimental value as it was the bike that my dad bought brand new and used to take me out on. The thing is he put 7600 miles on it, almost t-boned someone while doin 80 mph and parked it beside his house under a tarp back in 93. Needless to say its going to be a bit of a project but I have never worked on a motorcycle so it is also going to be a learning experience. I do basic repairs to my cars but have never done anything like a full rebuild so I will have plenty of questions as time goes on. I intend to get it back to showroom condition (with the help of my son, thought it would be a fun project for us) and will be uploading pics to my myspace (http://www.myspace.com/avengingllama) if you want to see what kind of progress is being made or laugh at me. Also if there is anyone in Columbus, Ohio that would want to get together for rides once it is up and running that would be cool too as only one of my buddies has a bike and he has a new baby so time is VERY limited. Or if you want to help with the mechanicals I have been know to pay for help with beer and steaks cooked over a charcoal fire ;). Anyway, nice to meet you folks and will be asking questions soon

Welcome to you and by all means don't hesitate to ask about whatever ails your bike.
