Well, the time came, and what was warned of me, happened. The turbo needs a rebuild. Thanks to MacMcMacmac i ordered a TC03 rebuild kit from http://www.gpopshop.com/mitsubishikits.html

I emailed them this weekend and got fast replies back, even on sunday! Was able to pay with paypal and they shipped the Kit out today! Should be here Wednesday since gpopshop is only 850 miles from me!

So in preperation I dismantled the turbo. Since the housings were off i figured might as well do something while waiting. So i'm port & polishing the exhaust & polish/paint the exhaust. I'm also Polishing the outside of the compressor housing, but the outlet will be ported.

I'll also be doing a [HOWTO] with photos once everythings together and properly working!

For now, i'll just show a few pics

ok well i guess i really only have one pic worthwhile showing now, the rest have to deal with steps in the howto and aren't that interesting.

I have lots of pics, and a few videos!

It's late, but i wanted to let you guys know, turbo rebuild went great.

I see now that my 'shaft-play' in my other video / post was really horrible.

it seems like it gets alot more boost now too. I only went out for a few miles and it's quite cold out.

I didn't finish the polish or porting, as priority #1 is getting the bike ready for inspection so it can be tagged. Then i'll go back to working on that.

Wow, those rotors really ARE tiny aren't they?

I would have like to have really gotten in to my old bike but I just didn't have the workspace. Having the motor all through the yard in plastic containers two summers ago was really stressful, as well as using a TV stand as a workbench.

they are tiny. but for this bike, i wouldn't have any bigger really. Like everyone says, these aren't the best street bikes.

I'd like to add one of these to a R6 though. :)

You didn't have to Rebalance? that little guy likely spins more than 120,000 rpms. It's critical with the Garrets on my Saabs although they are lots bigger.
On another note Current R6 is pretty lame onna street as is.. adding turbo lag would solidify it's ranking as "worst Yama Yet"
