Just a question really. If there is a usefyul thread can you/do you/will you sticky/pin it to the top or make a forum for such threads?

Sure man. But I see a problem with each. If I sticky too much then it will overcome the other threads. If I move threads to a separate forum then it may confuse users as to where to post.

Maybe we need a more specific forum? Give me details of what you are looking for and what would meet the criteria to sticky or move a thread?

    Just a thought......
one heading for carbs, electrical, engine, transmission/clutch, and tires.
that would at least group topics and narrow down searching for a subject.

    What about an FAQ section?

We do this on my car audio board. We have multiple FAQs to answer almost all FAQ's.

hehe FAQ's love typing that ;)

Anyhow I was about to ask about tires. I know this topic has been covered multiple times but can easily find a good full thread on it.

I think there should be one on tires, carb cleaning, carb-jug boot repair/replacement and Im sure there is more.

I would love to see a sticky that has helpful solutions for our bikes. The XJFAQ is nice and all, but it's long and doesn't seem to get updated.

I still don’t have a good solution for this as I don’t want to duplicate content. I also am a user on here and for me forum ‘Search’ works quite well for me. I could make XJ FAQ forum but how would that differ from our current XJ Chat forum?

We have a search for the forums? No wonder Nick could zing me on those posts!!! Sno, I haven't been able to find the search option mentioned. Am I dull-witted and missing something right beneath my nose? I guess I need further education on how to use this forum to one's benefit. (Wait a minute, did I just call myself stupid?)

Doh! I no sooner sent the last post and saw the Search button on the top of the page, Arf! Alright, can you use the search on one forum to access all forums, or is it forum specific?

can we search the xjowners forum?

also it would be a good idea to have like a tech

section like we usen on xjowners

where there are articles on "how to" stuff.

No, the archived forum can't be searched as it's completely different format then this forum.

How would the How To forum distinguish from the current XJ Chat and other forums that we already have?

hmm that they are only articles which u can read

like how to sync carbs or de-rust tanks. etc

u cannot reply to them, just read'em.

and the info is correct for sure since its not a discusion!

for example right now m looking for the de-rust procedure

and normally i would post and ask and get several anwers,

but if u could just go to the "tech" page and see the info,

ot would save a lot of forum space i think! :)
