I noticed that bike on E Bay last night, seller wrote "This is a ratbike, Don't buy this if you are afraid of a few scratches or actually getting dirty".

maybe a nomination to PO hall of Fame, with the way it looks nothing would be a surprise when digging into it.

I showed my uncle the bike this afternoon and he said it looks good, I could not believe what I was hearing. Needs to get his eyes tested.

'New project' forces sale implies that this was his current project:eek:.. Also what front end is that? Anti-dive forks and swirly wheels.. not a 900 for sure..

    And who would want to?
Having said that, I've run a few ratty bikes in my time, but none of them had rattiness applied - bits were fixed on to do a job, but always in a reasonably neat and secure fashion; not because of appearance, but that if they fell off, I'd be the one to pay the penalty of a locked wheel, or something unexpected.
Too many 'ratbikes' are just done for effect, often in a short time, and often by people with not much clue, mechanical or otherwise. A true rat evolves over time.
