Yesterday I installed the swingarm/drive shaft tube, final drive and rear wheel on
an 82 650 maxim frame. the clearance between the tire ( 130/90-16 ) and the drive shaft tube
was only 1/8." Is this normal ? Did I install the swing arm spindles incorrectly ? Is there a spacer
ring around the rear wheel drive gear that I may have missed ? Is there a link to the proper
installation procededure for those parts ? I have to pull all those parts off again anyway because
I forgot to install the brake pivot shaft before the swing arm went in.

The spacing you have is normal. It's a tight fit, but will be fine.
