    hello.

The local wreckers are no good, I need a speedo and none are even willing to look into their stock for one that even comes close!

does anyone on the board have one, condition matters not too much, as long as it works!

    hope someone can help, cheers.

MR Blackstock, you'll find that most cable driven speedos will work and be acurate. Have you tried the Aussie E-Bay?

I have a Km/H set from an XV550 (I think, the tach has a temp gauge) that I got from eBay NZ. I bought it because the speedo goes to 220Km/H and I was looking for "non-80mph" raw material.

I could be talked out of it.

    Hello all.

here was me thinking the Ozzie side of the forum was abandoned!?
my XJ is an 1982 RJ.

I am in the process of hassling a wrecker to let me into his stack of speedos to find an alternative to an origonal, could take a few weeks for me to get in there, not many wreckers of my bikes age in geelong!

I have thought about the ebay one that was linked above, but it is totally different!? also my rev counter has no cable, and works........maybe it is off another bike?

I guess i will keep looking, but i am curious about the cable free rev counter, anyone else have this?

    cheers

'81 750's have no tachometer cable. That's about the time Yamaha began going electric. If you get the right speedo, you can put the guts into your old housing for a factory look.

Hi m8, hope to visit Melb one day once i get mine up and running, go see my nan before she dies is my hope.
Should be 2011 for Phillip island with a mate or two, 6000km round trip, 3 oil changes, home town relax in Albury for a day or two, can't wait...

I am going with a Acewell speedo myself and want to mount my GPS phone next to it, as soon as i get hold of my Xmas savings ill snap that one on eBay I've been watching soooo long....
It's in the US and I'm hoping our dollar holds strong till then.
There is a eBay seller in Melbourne
    but for the price..

My first road bike i mounted a tacho from a car, a electronic one spiced to the input of one coil.
Wow, if eBay was available then i would have been broke sooner...

Consider 3 in 1 tacho with shift light, yummmy

Must be the season, i'm after a speedo as well, the guts is completly knackered, had to remove them, odometer still works, using an lcd pushbike computer at the moment. Only had 95,000km's on it. Anyway, 1984 XJ900 speedo wanted.
