    Did Yamaha have dealer service manual for XJ Maxim/Seca bikes? I know Ford has shop manuals for their dealer technicians so I'm wondering if anythign like this was available for Yamaha shops?

    Yes the mighty "XJ CD" has scans of these service manuals. I have one for a Maxim even though I have a Seca, got it off of EBay in the winter.
