I bought one with a rack for about $40, got a spare grab bar for $15, and just bolted the backrest to the bar.

Now I just swap out the bar (4 bolts) when I want to put it on or off. May add the rack too eventually...

I'm looking for an OE backrest for my 83 xj750. I wouldn't mind finding an old kg engineering version either. The OE version slips on the top of the side rails with the grab handle removed.

Would love one for my bike, my daughter begs for one.
If anyone got something cheap I'm interested, otherwise I'll weld one up myself.. :)

Newbie here, are you talking about the factory low back support, I have an XJ Maxim 750 with the normal one it's about six or so (I'm going to remove it anyway) I didn't know there's a taller version? Picture? I would like to make a quick mount passenger backrest.
    Cheers, 50gary
