Hey, I couldn't stay away after I sold my 82' Maxim 650. I bought a 95' Kawasaki GPZ1100 to replace her. It's an amazing bike, but it's not that great for trips. So, on Monday, I picked up an 82' Maxim 1100. It came with an OEM Yamaha fairing, touring pegs, luggage rack w/ sissy bar, foglights, and a stereo system wired in already :). It's in amazing shape too!

Hey, that is a great looking 1100. I don't think I've ever seen one dressed up like that.

    Welcome back!

Nice looking ride! It looks incredibly clean and in great shape. VERY swoopy fairing. Does it do a good job keeping the wind off?

I've never seen one like this either. The fairing does a fantastic job keeping the wind off. I still get the nice breeze over my lower legs, but everything else is almost like being in a car :). I ended up pumping the rear suspension up to 40psi. It's perfect on the highway when my lady is on the back :D. My next step would be to get some saddlebags for her. Anyone have some bags they recommend? The rear lights have already been moved way back, so it's had bags on it before at one point.

Are you looking for soft cases or hard cases? If hard cases the only way I can think to find them would be to go to MC junkyards and see what might fit.

Soft cases? Local dealers or on line. You might check Jafrum.com. They have some bags. Others will have favorite on-line sources.

A friend of mine picked up a pair of leather(the real stuff) throw over the seat saddle bags for me at a community wide yard sale for $5.00. Yup! $5, five bucks, one Abe Lincoln. This would be the best way! Not sure how long you might have to look though!
