The point is that there are several bikes that are good for what you want. Literally hundereds of models if you include used machines.
There is no one answer, or even much of a short-list.
Since you mentioned sports bikes I'd suggest looking at the sport-touring category to start with.

I think if it comes to it some of the bolts look the way I want but I have a few more in mind I'm just going to keep read up on the specs of different bikes then test them out the one I think are the best

How to fix it depends on what the problem actually is.
It sounds like you have a vacuum leak.
What work have you done to the carbs and intake?

You can start with spraying the carbs and intakes down with starting fluid while its running to identify air leaks but until you thoroughly clean the carbs and change out the seals, anything is suspect and will give you issues. All those rubber parts are 35+ years old and iffy at best by now. Get it running good first before you start customizing. There's plenty of good threads and help on here to get it running well.

You do have a vacuum leak. It is most likely at the throttle shaft seals.
They will need to be replaced.

[QUOTE="Finding and relocating a smaller battery, such as lithium, would probably be much easier. .[/QUOTE]
I've been researching on getting a Lithium Battery for my '83 XJ750 Maxim, is there a good resource for this?
Spec guidelines possibly or good recommendations appreciated!
Looking for small and as flat as possible! wide and long is OK so I can squeeze it under a cafe seat.
