I prefer the look of the older XJ's. My bias. I'd like the upgraded performance of that one in the look of the older style.

It's the Japanese take on the Frisco style.

I think you might be missing my point - the style is fine - sort of sit up and cruise, quickly.
The bit I struggle with is the tank not quite getting to the headstock - like someone fetched one out the back, tried it, it fitted, and no-one listened to the guy who said - “that doesn’t look quite right”.
    Anyway, just my opinion.

That’s exactly how Frisco Style tanks sit. They don’t meet the steering neck, or the seat for that matter.

im not a fan of the look, but I don’t see it as a mistake.

You learn something every day - wonder if that half arsed style had a name this side of the pond?
I don’t like it on production machine tbh, but each to their own.

I’m wondering if the tank just wasn’t pushed up onto the rubbers correctly. The tail looks like it’s not forward far enough, and the seat is sitting too high in the front. There are so many things not correct with the bike, so I just can’t justify “it’s a ‘frisco’ look” to myself. Looks like a regular US bike with a bunch of things wrong and a tank just laid on, and a seat slapped down, pics taken without actually Fully installing things.

Seat definitely doesn't look latched down.

That's better isn't it. Still looks half arsed though. But then I don't think I've ever seen one in the flesh...
