What does everyone mean by colortune?

    It is a spark plug with a crystal window around the electrode. The result is you can see the combustion. Since you can see the combustion you can tune by the color of the flame to get the correct mix.

    Chacal sells them and they can be found on ebay.

    My plugs show carbon (black soot not oil) and it makes me think my carbs are too rich. I thought only the idle mixture could be adjusted????--am i correct or misled on that? I have stock carbs that i have taken apart, cleaned, inspected and reinstalled. Just looking for optimal performance. Should I try colortune?

    Colortune is a great tool. Your plugs will get black sooty plugs if you idle for a time with the choke on. Try killing the engine at speed /rpm and coast out then check you plugs (plug chop)
