I have a 82 xj650 and I am running filter pods and no exhaust. I was wonding what size jets I should get for the set up I am running. I was looking on a few threads and I saw that someone ran 42 pilot and 118 main with their filer pods and it ran great. Just wanted to see if having no muffler would change anything. Thanks Daniel

wow, i almost went on a rant but Moe and Larry got me some cheese.
that question is almost like what's tomorrow's lottery numbers?
but 42, 118 is as good a place to start as any, i guess

My question is—why would you do that to a perfectly good machine.

Welcome to the world of pods...short answer there is no limit it is guess work . Too big of jets and bike will bog ,to small and bike will starve for fuel , unless you have access to a dyno it is all guess work. My advice put stock airbox and jets back in , you eliminate running issues. Good luck .

Yeah, jetfixer is right, you are into a world of guesswork and trying things. Thats not to say you won't get it to work, but the issue could be that it does work, but you'll not know if its right, or just about right enough to run - so it will be weak, and one hot day, giving it death, enjoying yourself to the max, it'll burn a piston.
You could buy a wideband lambda, that would eventually get you there...

hi Daniel, I have a similar setup on an 82 xj650, I was told on here that 120 was too much and to try 118, Did you ever try that setup? 118 main and 43 idle?
