Drain carbs, Pull battery, Put said battery on a tender, put carb cleaner in empty float bowls. change oil, do some scheduled maintnance, write a letter to santa, Marvel mystery oil cranked in non sparked cylinders,....

What else did I miss Ricomatic?

Move to some place where you don't have to winterize/store the bike.

I WISH! I just started riding about three or so months ago. I hate that I have to wait until April to ride again. Getting snow today, BRRRRRRR!

Heh. I hear that... I moved out here to get away from the white menace, and I'm not going back.

That being said, there have been multiple threads on the subject of winterizing one's bike:

    Me Three

There may be more I missed. If you happen to have the XJCDs, I believe they go into the subject as well.

Ride it every day unless there's snow on the ground!

Set bike on centre stand: Pull plugs, squirt oil in cylinders, crank engine a couple spins, reinstall plugs, don’t tighten. Change oil, drain all carbs, connect battery tender, Clean exhaust collector if you have, spray with rust inhibitor, make sure tires are resting on wood, stick rags into end of mufflers. Cover the bike. For outside storage you’ll have to spray wheels, engine, handle bars and fenders with a rust inhibitor.
Make sure before you even start that you put stabilizer in with your FULL tank of fuel, ride it a few miles, then start your winterizing.

In the spring the airbox is the second thing I check. Charge battery all the way up if not on battery tender and then the airbox check. Even had a nest in the top of my Forester this winter, good thing that didn't start on fire. They can build a nest fast.
