    Hi guys i just picked up this bike and i am scouring the internet looking for the answers to the following questions...

    1982 xj1100 maxim

    oil drain plug location
    and oil type to use

    the guy i bought it from had no knowledge of anything i picked up the bike for a song and a dance...

    anything you can give me would be greatly appreciated

    Hello there and welcome,
    the oil drain plug is located at the front of the engine on the sump (oil pan) slightly to the right of the oil filter bowl as you look from the front of the bike.
    Oil is a 10w/40 mineral.
