Hi there, i was wondering if anyone had any suggestions as to how to correctly plumb the fuel lines for the carbs to the fuel tank. I know this may seem like a bizarre request but having swapped my carbs over several times i want to make sure they are plumbed correctly. The bike is a pre-diversion XJ600 that i have done up from scratch and this is the last step. I had it wired a certain way but a friend said he was unsure whether the plumbing was correct.

I presume there are two overflow nozzles at the bottom of the carbs and the main thick fuel line runs directly into the carbs. I also had the smaller fuel lines running to the reserve on the tank. The problem was he thought that the smaller reserve lines should have infact ran to the bottom of the carbs opposed to the front mountings on the engine. Can anyone shed some light or provide pictures/diagrams to resolve this problem once and for all so this damn bike can get MOT'd and put n the road.

    Many thanks

    Iain

The small line is vacuum. It runs from intake manifold #3's nipple to the vacuum nipple on the gas tank. (Upper nipple on tank)

The gas line goes from the tank nipple (lower nipple on tank) to the fuel nipple on the carbs fuel rail.

There is NOT a reserve line.

The petcock vacuum line may go on #2 not #3, the 550's are that way. (It really doesn't matter, it's just a matter of how far the line will reach.)
