I need the large, black plastic brackets that basically hold everything together on the rear TourPack for 81-83 Secas. (look left).
The 2 brackets are about 14 by 5 inches- - mine were ruthlessly cut-up.

I'm looking at drilling and patching what I got for now, what do I have to lose? or welding up a complete, solid rack, but this thing is going back together this week!!

I still want to buy the original, undamaged parts, then I'll throw away the junk I have to make today. Thanks for looking for me.

are these the parts? unfortunately mine are cut up too, i think they used a chain saw on the lower edge
if yours is cut the same place i wonder if there was a reason to modify them?
this bike is down to the frame, i never even tried to see if they fit

Mine are hacked too... One ponders the issue. I also noticed from the image (so thoughtfully provided by our esteemed colleague Polock) that I am missing the Luggage Carrier Stays. Anyone got a set?

    Pete,
I emailed you earlier with the angle iron size and the box tubing size I used but you sound like you're getting frustrated and I fully understand. Would it be helpful if I dimensioned up this pic?

Mr Polock wins again ! Notice the 3 holes in the "right" bracket? That whole lip was cut off with an angle grinder to make removal easier.
    (on both brackets)

Mr Robert, I could easily trace my stays, as they are just angle iron, then copy them, and send you the image in E-Mail with the exact measurements. They would be easy to make.

I have decided to simply bolt angle iron on and see how solid it is for now.

Micro, you should start a post in "Modifications" and show everyone your bracket you came up with. It's a very solid replacement for the plastic parts.

I could use a set of dimensioned diagrams for those brackets too. I am lacking the plastic plates for the touring set.

Ok, Ok the pics and diagrams are coming. With the bracket I made, you will not need the side plates - the side luggage and the trunk mount to the same bracket and it is SOLID! Did I say SOLID?! And the real beauty of it IMHO is that it utilizes tapped holes that are already in your frame. No Need to drill or weld to the frame! The bracket that I designed is sturdy enough to act as a grab bar to pull the bike onto the center stand since you have to remove the grab bar in order to mount the luggage. My bracket is not sandblasted so you can see some weld splatter and there are a couple of other refinements that I will include that are design issues that I discovered after the fact that will make yours even better than mine. You will have to drill new holes in your luggage because I do not utilize the existing holes. I think mine is an improvement over Yamaha's. It is easy on and off and SOLID without adding much weight at all - maybe two pounds at the most. I have to work a long day today and tomorrow is Bible study so I probably won't get all the pics posted until Thursday. I will try to get what I can posted today so that you can get started and have your luggage mounted by the weekend. Now, if anyone knows of a set of lowers for the front fairing I would be much obliged.

Guess it is time to give mirco some business in the manufacture of that bracket. i dont have the tools or ability to weld and manufacture that stuff. SIGH!!!

I picked up a '82 Seca 750 today and the next door neighbor had a TourPack set of hard bags in his back yard. Each of the 3 bags have scuff marks, are sun faded and do not have keys for the locks. Each of the 2 plastic mounts have cracks/pieces missing. The guy only wants $10 for the whole setup but I already have a set of Vetter hard bags and 2 sets of textile bags so I passed. If anyone is willing to go to the Shippensburg, PA area I can give you the contact info.
    Edit
Much easier just to post here. The guy's name is Grant MacKenzie (he is a student at Shippensburg U), 610-733-9200. Grant lives next door to the guy who owns the TourPack hard bags.

ditto on the lowers, wonder if anyone is a fiberglass guru? would be nice to have some measurments to give this a shot. i am willing to try. just dont have the Templates. maybe some measurements will do the trick. even a broken set would suffice for a mock up. too many irons in the fire. Mirco u sure u dont wanna do a design build on the brackets? think u got at least 2 customers here? howz the new job goin?

    +1
If you are talking about the TourPack front fairing lowers, then count me in! I have 1 side with a broken lower mounting tab (IIRC). Not a real complicated shape; maybe some sheet ABS heat-formed against a molding "buck"?
