Valve timing, camshaft position question.

    Take a look at the pic, this is my intake cam.
    It is only off by a bit, but I dont want to take any chances.
    The pic is taken at TDC and the exhaust cam is lined up perfectly.

    Should I leave as is, or break her back down and start over?

    You would have to move one link & that would be way out, just turn the engine over 2 revs' & check again, but you should be right.

    I have turned the engine over several times after installing the tensioner.
    The results are still the same.
    I guess it will be ok...

    I'm not saying it is wrong as I don't know what is acceptable on these. But maybe your cam chain is stretched or worn and it is throwing off the alignment of the one cam in relation to the other. Maybe even one of the cam chain sprockets.

    what if you rotate just the sprocket 180, might even have to do the same with the exhaust

    i went and looked, it won't matter, their symmetrical

    I just did this, and mine ended up right. This was the part I was most nervous about. I agree shifting a tooth will put you way off. Only other thought I had on mine was that you can shift the sprocket ever so slightly left or right if there is some slop in the sprocket bolt holes.
